This hand-fabricated necklace is truly one-of-a-kind. The lighthouse was acid-etched into the copper, then other techniques were applied to get the final piece of art to wear. The focal piece measures 2 1/8” wide by 2 7/8” tall. It hangs from 20” of antiqued copper chain, onto which I’ve attached ten fresh water black pearls. The piece is very rustic in nature as if to imply that it’s been tossed around in the sea, but as always, I’ve paid attention to detail where it matters, such as in the holes where the chain attaches. There, I have added eyelets for a nice, finished look. Closure is a crab claw. It is signed at the nape of the neck with my Down in the Delta tag. The copper has been waxed to keep it from tarnishing. May be polished with a soft cloth to keep the look and feel, but you shouldn’t need to use a chemical or jewelry polish. Should not be worn while swimming or bathing, as the chlorine could react with the copper.
