Dominican Amber in Sterling Silver Necklace

This piece was designed so that you can see a design that mimics honeycomb through the transparent amber.  The design was hammered into the silver before the stone was set.  The focal pendant measures 1 1/4” tall x 7/8” wide, and it hangs from a brown polished leather cord.  It’s signed with a Down in the Delta maker’s tag hanging from the knot at the nape of the neck.  This piece is more delicate than most of what I make, so if you’re rough on jewelry, this is probably not the piece for you.  The fancy gallery wire around the amber serving as a bezel is very delicate, as is the wire at the top.  It’s been “work-hardened” but is not indestructible.
