There's a lot going on with this set. The necklace is quite large, as the feature arrangement measures almost 7" from cord to bottom of the mermaid tail. At the top, there's a hand-cut silver-plated vintage knife handle formed into a bail, in which to hang this under the sea adventure. Hanging within and underneath the bail are little treasures from the sea attached with chains, so there's a lot of movement and sparkles. All metals are white...silver and gunmetal. There are natural freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, iridescent flashes of blues, purples, greens and pinks, and even a sterling silver little net wrapped around a blue glass bead. The mermaid holds a crystal and she's hanging in front of a recycled vintage mother-of-pearl garment decoration. All are attached to a beautiful brown round polished leather cord that measures 30". The bracelet is a 7" one, but I can make another one to go with the set if you prefer another size. This is definitely a one-of-a-kind high-quality set.
My jewelry pieces are all one-of-a-kind, mostly made from recycled bits and pieces. My style is a bit edgy and I like to play with mixed metals so that they can be worn with many different companion pieces. You will notice that my embossed printing is a little wonky-this is intentional-it's all part of my style. I also celebrate imperfections found on some of these old objects, as they are scars that detail part of their history. I do like to go an extra step to finish my pieces with nice details, like eyelets in the drilled holes. Most smashed spoon pieces just have drilled holes...I like the more finished and refined look the eyelet gives and it's an opportunity to add another color of metal.
On the smashed spoon necklaces, you will see each item marked " Extra Large," "Large," "Medium," or "Small." These labels are referring to the bowl size of the vintage or antique spoon that was used. Larger ladies usually prefer the larger pieces, whereas the small ones can look nice on a lady of any size or age, to include young girls.
Most are strung on black or brown polished leather.
The "Special Collection" pieces still have the look that my pieces are known for but will have a really unusual, rare, or extra element. They're a little fancier than the regular smashed spoon pieces.
