This piece is telling us to pack our bags and take that trip! It's all built on top of an antique doorknob escutcheon. I polished the tarnished piece just enough to bring out the pretty little details in the metal, and then I added a clear coat of acrylic so that it'll stay this way. The little clock has a glass dial! It's soo cute. I'm thinking it was a charm from a Cracker Jack box in the 30s or 40s. I pulled the little charm loop out of the top and it was a perfect fit for this spot! The story continues with a lady carrying her bags and she's reflected in a tiny mirror that was attached where the keyhole was. In the bottom hole, I used a vintage rhinestone button, just to remind us to take some sparkles along on the trip for those occasions where you would want to dress up. I hung a chain at the bottom with several little travel-related charms and finished off the back with some pretty vintage-inspired paper. I attached a copper tag at the top that's marked "#DITD" as my signature. It's strung on a 30" brown polished leather cord. This is a definite one-of-a-kind artisan piece.
