This is up there in the top ten “favorite pieces I’ve made.” I love to incorporate old bits and pieces into my jewelry designs and this one is loaded up with tiny little treasures—a decorative black button and a small dome translucent old button that was the perfect size to layer onto the top of the black one. And on the reverse side, two more gorgeous vintage/antique buttons are layered. One is a tiny mother-of-pearl button that was originally fashioned in a silver bezel, exactly like we do cab stones when we make jewelry. It’s a special piece, for sure! There’s not a “back” side really, as both sides are equally pretty, so it’s like two necklaces in one. Copper base plate on focal piece measures 1 1/4” across. It’s all hanging on a bronze-colored chain that measures 24”. A crab claw closure secures it in the front as shown on the mannequin.
